President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko introduced new Minister for Foreign Affairs Pavlo Klimkin to the senior executives of the MFA.
According to the Head of State, the first task of the new Minister is the implementation of the Association Agreement with the EU.
In his speech, the President emphasized that after the signature of the economic part of the Agreement on June 27, "an extremely difficult phase of implementation will begin and it will require decisive steps".
The second task of the new Minister is participation in the fulfillment of the plan on stabilization of the situation in the east of Ukraine. Petro Poroshenko noted that Ukraine will not be able to defeat the aggressor without foreign assistance. "We must be efficient, persuasive and professional," he stressed.
According to the President, the MFA will make a presentation of the peaceful plan on June 23, at the meeting of the EU Foreign Affairs Council. "The intensity of work is extreme," he said.
In his turn, Pavlo Klimkin said that his task is "to make a real European diplomatic service that will work in the interests of Ukraine in real time, selflessly and professionally".
