On August 24th Ukraine will celebrate its 22nd Independence Day. Government leaders and Ukrainians of all walks of life will take part in celebratory events.
The President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych will lay flowers at the monuments to prominent patriotic poet Taras Shevchenko and national leader Mykhailo Hrushevsky.
On the occasion of the great holiday, the President's greeting comprised a reference to those prominent figures of the past who made patriotic history, and to those who with their tireless effort are building the Ukraine of today and investing into the Ukraine of the future. The Head of State wished Ukrainians health, inspiration, and success in the name of a strong and prosperous Ukraine.
