The Embassy of Ukraine to the Republic of Indonesia has been taking active measures for the resolution of the situation with the MV Ocean Grand. The ship with Ukrainian crew on board has been staying in Indonesian territorial waters close to the port of Batam without adequate provisions. The problem arose due to the neglect of contract responsibilities by the operator of the ship.

Ukraine's diplomatic institutions in Indonesia, Singapore, Japan, UK, Mexico, the MFA office in Odesa, the charity foundation "Assol", as well as regional representatives of the International Transport Workers' Federation are assisting the crew in their negotiations with the owner of the ship in order to find solutions.

The Consul of the Embassy of Ukraine to the Republic of Indonesia Peter Sukhomeilo made a working trip to the port of Batam, where he met with the Immigration Authority of the Republic of Indonesia, representatives of the ship owner and agent of the ship, as well as the Ukrainian crew.
