The Embassy of Ukraine to the Republic of Indonesia took part in a panel discussion on "The Crisis in Ukraine in a Global Context" organized by the US diplomatic mission (full video: http://www.atamerica.or.id/video/detail/935/Panel-Discussion-The-Crisis-in-Ukraine-in-a-Global-Context).
Representatives from the USA, from the EU, from the Republic of Poland, and from Ukraine contributed to the debate. The Indonesian civic society, expert, academic circles, and online media representatives had the opportunity to pose questions to the speakers.
The participants exchanged opinions with regard to the latest events in Ukraine, first and foremost in Crimea, the efforts of the new Ukrainian leadership, and the international community, directed at stopping the Russian Federation's military aggression and the so-called "referendum" in the Autonomous Crimean Republic.
Participants of the event expressed their joint position regarding the necessity of respecting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of states as the basis of international relations. The actions of the Russian Federtation were condemned as such, that violate the norms of international law and peaceful co-existence of states. Ukraine's readiness to act strictly within the legal field to find a peaceful resolution to the conflict was emphasized.
