President Petro Poroshenko expressed gratitude to the Indonesian side for hospitality and noted fruitful and constructive character of the negotiations.
The Head of State emphasized that Indonesia was among the key partners of Ukraine in Southeast Asia, a powerful regional leader and a global player. “We have reached full understanding on the entire list of issues. The negotiations have demonstrated our unity in the issues of further cooperation development,” Petro Poroshenko said delivering the joint press statement with the President of Indonesia.
The parties discussed the enhancement of trade and economic cooperation and noted the importance of holding the third session of the Intergovernmental Ukraine-Indonesia Commission for Economic and Technical Cooperation. The Head of State is confident that its organization in Kyiv in 2017 will promote intensification of economic ties and initiate a series of mutually beneficial projects in various spheres of industry, energy and agriculture.
The President of Indonesia, in his turn, emphasized that the parties had paid significant attention to the issue of investments and mutual access to the markets of the two countries for their commodities.
“Ukraine is a powerful producer and reliable supplier of energy equipment in over 40 countries. We see active participation of Ukraine in the implementation of “35 thousand megawatts” project initiated by Mr. President,” he said. The President of Indonesia noted that in the course of the negotiations significant attention had been paid to cooperation in the sphere of production of turbines and generators.
Ukrainian companies are also willing to implement important infrastructure projects in Indonesia, including construction of ports. President Petro Poroshenko added that the Ukraine-Indonesia business forum would give a boost to the expansion of business contacts between the two countries.
The Presidents have also discussed cooperation in hi-tech spheres, particularly aviation and space sphere. “Our experts have already discussed the use of Ukrainian An-32P aircrafts in the fire extinguishing operations in Indonesia. We have agreed to continue our cooperation,” Petro Poroshenko informed.
