In the course of the joint press statement, President Petro Poroshenko expressed gratitude to President of Indonesia Joko Widodo for the decision to introduce visa-free regime for Ukrainians.
“We are grateful to the President of Indonesia for the decision to introduce visa-free regime for Ukrainian citizens. I am sure it will promote tourism development,” the Head of State noted.
Petro Poroshenko is confident that the intergovernmental agreement on the abolition of visas for holders of diplomatic and official passports signed today will also contribute to the development of relations between the two countries.
In the course of the negotiations, the parties have discussed cooperation in humanitarian sphere and in the framework of the international organizations. The Head of State thanked Indonesia for supporting the candidacy of Ukraine during the voting for non-permanent members of the UN Security Council. “We are willing to support Indonesia in 2019-2020,” he said.
The parties have also discussed the investigation into the MH17 tragedy. The President noted high level of coordination between all the countries whose citizens had fallen victims to the given disaster.
The interlocutors have shared views on the integration processes taking place in Southeast Asia. Ukraine is interested in strengthening cooperation with such a powerful regional organization like ASEAN.
The President invited his Indonesian colleague to visit Ukraine.
