Given the development of the situation around the spread of SARSCoV-2 and SARS-CoV-2 virus (strain B117) in the world, the Task Force of the Government of the Republic of Indonesia (hereinafter - RI) to overcome the pandemic COVID-19 decided to extend the ban on entry of foreign citizens to the territory of the country until February 8, 2021.
Exceptions to this ban are the following categories of foreigners:
- holders of diplomatic and service visas entering the country as part of official visits at the level of ministers and senior officials;
- holders of diplomatic and official residence permits;
- holders of temporary (KITAS) or permanent (KITAP) residence permits;
- Foreigners entering with special permits from RI ministries/agencies.
Upon arrival at the airports, the anti-epidemic rules provided for by the decision of the National Task Force on Overcoming COVID-19 №3 from 2020 will be applied to these categories of persons.
In particular, foreigners entering RI must provide a negative RT-PCR test, which must be conducted no later than 72 hours before departure, and undergo a repeat RT-PCR at the airport of arrival.
If the retest shows a negative result, foreign nationals, including members of diplomatic missions, must undergo a 5-day self-isolation in one of the hotels designated by the Government of the Republic of Indonesia, at their own expense.
After a 5-day quarantine, foreign nationals must be re-examined by RT-PCR, a negative result of which entitles them to continue on their way to their final destination.
If the re-examination of RT-PCR on arrival shows a positive result, foreign nationals must be treated in a specialized hospital at their own expense.
