The Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba had a telephone conversation with the Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia Retno Lestari Princiari Marsudi.

The Foreign Minister briefed the interlocutor on the security situation near the state border and in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine.

Dmytro Kuleba stressed that Ukraine pays important attention to the development of relations with ASEAN countries. He expressed gratitude for granting observer status to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine in the ASEAN Interparliamentary Assembly last year.

"Ukraine and the ASEAN countries are important trading partners, and Indonesia is a particularly important partner for Ukraine in this region. We are working on trade liberalization in order to actively increase trade and investment between our countries, "said the Minister.

The parties agreed to hold political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and Indonesia in the near future, as well as a meeting of the Intergovernmental Ukrainian-Indonesian Commission on Economic and Technical Cooperation.

Dmytro Kuleba and Retno Marsudi discussed the schedule of contacts at the highest and highest levels in 2022, preparations for the signing of a number of bilateral documents between Ukraine and Indonesia.

Ministers exchanged invitations to visit at a convenient time.

"This year we celebrate the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between our countries. This is an opportunity to open a new page in the relations between Ukraine and Indonesia, "the Minister concluded.
