From July 23 to August 8, Tokyo will host the XXXII Summer Olympic Games, where 157 athletes represent Ukraine in 25 sports. To support Ukrainians while they compete in Japan, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, together with Ukrainian Institute, the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine, and the National Olympic Committee, joined the international information campaign. It was initiated by Reface, who created a series of videos with Ukrainian athletes depicted as movie heroes. Videos with all the athletes are available at the link.
The promotion of Ukrainian sports and athletes is part of the sports diplomacy work of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. This campaign is designed, in particular, to unite Ukrainian and foreign audiences to support the Ukrainian team during the Olympic Games in Japan.
"The Tokyo Olympics is a great opportunity to promote the positive image of Ukraine globally. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has decided to help Reface, the world-famous Ukrainian startup, creatively achieve this goal. The Ministry and foreign diplomatic missions of Ukraine in the world have joined to strengthen the campaign in support of our Olympic team so that it reaches an international audience as large as possible," said Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba.
Foreign Minister added that foreigners will also be able to learn more about our Olympians on the official website of Ukraine and Ukraine’s official Facebook and Instagram. To join the campaign, Ukrainians and foreigners, who cheer for the athletes from Ukraine, can write words of support to the Olympians on social media with the hashtags #OlympicUA and #серцемуТокіо.
