On 15 August in Kyiv, Ukraine and Indonesia held political consultations at the level of deputy foreign ministers of two countries. First Deputy Foreign Minister of Ukraine Andrii Sybiha headed the Ukrainian side and Director General for American and European Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia (in the rank of Deputy Foreign Minister) Umar Hadi leaded Indonesian delegation.
The First Deputy Minister expressed gratitude to the Indonesian government for supporting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, in particular during the voting of the relevant resolutions of the UN General Assembly.
The Parties discussed a wide range of issues of Ukraine-Indonesia cooperation and the global agenda, outlined next steps to strengthen positive dynamics in trade and economic cooperation, as well as to develop interaction within the framework of international organizations.
The Indonesian Side has been informed in details about the situation in Ukraine as well as about preparations for the Second Global Peace Summit. It was stressed that the only basis for achieving a just peace is the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy`s Peace Formula.
The counterparts also exchanged views on the prospects of Ukraine's cooperation with the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) as our state intends to become the Sectoral Dialogue Partner of the Association.
