On November 23, 2021, Vasyl Hamianin, Ambassador of Ukraine to Indonesia, paid a courtesy call to Mr Ridwan Kamil, Governor of West Java, in Bandung.

Parties held fruitful discussions on prospects of further cooperation based on the potential and opportunities of Ukraine and West Java. Two officials exchange views on cooperation in the fields of trade and economy, green energy, energy saving, information technology, tourism etc.

It was agreed to take further practical steps to develop cooperation in the areas of food security and agriculture, as well as in humanitarian and educational fields.

Issues of widening interregional cooperation were discussed. Ambassador underlined his readiness to facilitate partnership and twinning relations of the West Java province with relevant regions of Ukraine, as well as arranging in the near future bilateral events aimed at strengthening business activity at the regional level.

Vasyl Hamianin noted that West Java is the first province of Indonesia that he paid an official visit. "We must build up a solid foundation, the reliable path and create mutually acceptable opportunities to establish ties between business representatives, strengthen people-to-people contacts as contributing to stability and prosperity of our countries," - Ambassador said.
