Tuesday concludes the two-day visit to Ukraine of the delegation of the People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR) of the Republic of Indonesia, led by MPR Head, Sidarto Danusubroto.
The delegation met with the Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov. The parties discussed cooperation possibilities in trade and the economic sector. They also brought up the issue of organizing a joint business forum, as well as a meeting of the inter-state Ukrainian-Indonesian Committee for Trade and Economic Cooperation.
The Ukrainian Head of Government underscored the country’s prominent position in the world in such areas as electro-mechanics, mining equipment, airspace, defense, agriculture, ship-building, and suggested forging closer ties in these sectors. The Indonesian Parliamentary Speaker expressed his high expectations for a future visit of the Ukrainian Head of State to Indonesia, and said that an Inter-State Commission meeting may take place as early as December 2013. He underscored that Indonesia is most interested cooperation in defense, tourism, and nutrition.
