On August 29-30 2014 the sixth Global Forum on United Nations Alliance of Civilizations took place in Denpasar, Bali, (Indonesia). Among the prominent participants: UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon, Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, and delegations from more than 100 countries, international organisations, and cultural associations.

This year's event took place under the motto of "Unity in Diversity: Celebrating Diversity for Common and Shared Values". The participants exchanged opinions on paths to further expanding spheres of cultural and inter-religious understanding and cooperation.

The Ukrainian representative - the Ambassador of Ukraine to the Republic of Indonesia Volodymyr Pakhil emphasized that the achievements of civilizations are only valuable within the context of peace. Thus, the undeclared military invasion of Russia in to Ukrainian territory is a challenge to peace in the whole world. The aggression should be stopped by peaceful means. The international community should dedicate every effort to this goal.
