The Ambassador of Ukraine to the Republic of Indonesia Volodymyr Pakhil met with the Deputy Governor of Jakarta Basuki “Ahok” Tjahaja Purnama. The latter is expected to become Jakarta's Governor once President-elect Joko "Jokowi" Widodo is sworn in as Indonesia's President in October 2014.

The Ambassador informed the Governor about the latest events in Ukraine, in particular with regard to the situation in east Ukraine.

The parties exchanged thoughts on the current state of cooperation between the capitals of both countries. The need to implement several bilateral projects within the context of the Memorandum on cooperation between the Kyiv City National Administration and the Government of the Capital Province of Jakarta was emphasized.
