November 4, 2021, Dr. Vasyl Hamianin, Ambassador of Ukraine to Indonesia paid a courtesy call to the People's Consultative Assembly of the Republic of Indonesia, where he met with Hon. Mr. Fadli Zon, Chairman of the Committee for Interparliamentary Relations of the People's Representative Council (the Lower House).
The meeting was also attended by representatives of the II and IV Commissions of the Parliament, respectively, Hon. Mr. Mardani Ali Sera and Hon. Mr. Putu Supadma Rudana.
Ambassador underlined the significant role of parliamentarism in developing and strengthening relations between the two states as well as the inclusion of issues important for both sides into bilateral and global agenda. It was noted the friendly character and positive dynamics of interparliamentary dialogue between Ukraine and the Republic of Indonesia.
During the meeting, the parties discussed topical issues of Ukraine-Indonesia cooperation, namely enhancing political dialogue at all levels, strengthening economic cooperation and launching new projects as well as reviving business activity and B2B contacts. The interlocutors exchanged views on prospects of extending the legal framework of relations and the possibility of mutual recognition of national vaccination certificates.
The parties exchanged views on ways to promote and increase awareness about the potential of Ukraine`s tourism as well as further development of cultural and humanitarian ties.
Vasyl Hamianin emphasized Ukraine's willingness and readiness to further develop the whole range of mutually beneficial cooperation with Indonesia and drive bilateral relations onto a more pragmatic level.
The parties agreed to maintain communication and continue exchanging views on topical issues of the bilateral agenda.
