On December 16, 2021, Ambassador of Ukraine to the Republic of Indonesia Vasyl Hamianin met with Minister of Trade of the Republic of Indonesia Muhammad Lutfi, during which the parties discussed prospects for further development of mutually beneficial trade and economic cooperation between the two countries.

An exchange of views took place on concrete steps to intensify trade and investment cooperation. It was agreed that the liberalization of bilateral trade through the signing of the Agreement on Preferential Trade between Ukraine and RI will be an effective mechanism for maintaining positive growth dynamics.

The parties welcomed the start of the negotiation process between the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine and the Ministry of Trade of the Republic of Indonesia and agreed to support in every possible way a stable interagency dialogue upon the completion of the preparation in the first half of 2022 a feasibility study of signing this Agreement.

The parties agreed to promote trade cooperation strengthening between two countries and search for more effective interaction mechanisms in the field of investment and joint production.
